Alumni Network Coordinator Volunteer
The Programmes Team is looking for a dynamic individual to coordinate the Alumni Network at Safe Ground.
A commitment of one (1) day per week for six (6) months; days and hours negotiable
Safe Ground is an established voluntary sector organisation that uses the arts to reduce re-offending; working inside and outside prison to support stronger relationships and communities. We were commissioned by the Prison Service in 1999 to develop the unique parenting and family relationship programmes Family Man (FM) and Fathers Inside (FI). We now manage their delivery across a network of 20 prisons in England and Wales. The volunteer will:
The Programmes Team is looking for a volunteer to co-ordinate the activities of a small Steering Group of supporters, providing the group with help, guidance and support as necessary. The Steering Group will take the lead on establishing and managing an Alumni Network, comprising graduates (and their families) of our FM and FI programmes.
We have created this volunteering opportunity for anyone wishing to gain practical work experience, increase their skills base or volunteer to work for an organisation that fits in with their own values and beliefs.
The volunteer will:
- Be committed to Safe Ground’s mission statement
- Be knowledgeable about criminal justice and/or education policy
- Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and ability to prioritise conflicting tasks
- Have experience of building relationships, networking and coordinating complex partnerships
- Be able to commit to a certain number of days or hours per week over a set period of time to achieve these objectives.
