Following on from the Koestler Gold Award our poetry anthology ‘Home’ has now been reviewed in the prestigious PN Review by our colleague at the University of Essex, Dr. Chris McCully. Entitled ‘Home in Wandsworth’, it is a substantial 1,500 words in PNR 225, September – October 2015, Volume 46:1, that explores the theme of ‘home’, traces the history of the GROUNDation Poetry Project and features several excerpts of participants’ work. For the full review read here.
I just read Home on the PN website and thought it was great. Who was responsible for writing the piece? I’d like to speak to them if possible as I too will be writing on the themes of home from an existential psychotherapy perspective in lieu of my doctorate programme. Having work with detainees and in prison I am keen to explore what home means from their perspective and would welcome any ideas or means to work collaboratively with someone.
Thank you for your comment. The piece was written by Dr. Christopher McCulley, Centre for Creative Writing Admissions at the University of Essex. He and a number of his colleagues at the University are embarking on a multi-disciplinary research programme on the theme of ‘Home’, which is how we came into to contact with the University. You can find a video feature Dr. Sanja Bahun introducing the programme here: https://vimeo.com/132920432
Do let us know how you came to read the piece via our website.
Many thanks.
