Safe Ground on the Run – Fundraising Event
Volunteer Project Manager required
We are planning a big running event for March 2013, where participants will run a sponsored 10K. We want to have 250 runners taking part. The prospect of 250 people running around a park in Wandsworth in our bright orange Safe Ground t-shirts bot only brings a smile to our face but represents a very good media opportunity, with local newspapers likely to be interested, as well local radio, television and news. The bigger this gets the more likely we are to get national coverage.
We are looking for a volunteer to manage this project. This proactive person will approach businesses local and global for sponsorship opportunities, in order to acquire a range of necessary resources and support from bespoke orange t-shirts, water, energy drinks to prizes for competitions. You will help design the media strategy, utilising social media platforms to generate interest and participation, and also formulate a plan to promote the event, feature the organisation and participants in local and national press, radio, television and online outlets. You will also be in charge of logistics, from securing the venue, obtaining permissions, organising security and health and safety.
This is large undertaking and we require someone to work with us to the completion of the event, with working hours to be negotiated with the right candidate. We are looking for someone with some background and an interest in one or all of the following areas: socially impactful arts education, fundraising, marketing and communications and project management. You must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, be familiar with social media platforms and be able to work to deadlines.
If this is of interest please contact the Commercial Manager at info@safeground.org.uk, sending your CV and a covering letter explaining your interest in Safe Ground what you would like to gain from the experience and what you bring to this role.

This will involve a number of strands with the amount yet to be fixed but involving life before prison all the way through to release.
