‘Time Done’ with Safe Ground at HMP Belmarsh

On Thursday 23 February 2012 we held an amazing awareness raising day, ‘Do Time’ at HMP Belmarsh, where eleven Family Man and Fathers Inside Graduates led in an interactive presentation that displayed how various relationship and educationals skills had developed over the duration of the courses. Our guests, who included representatives from the Department of Education, the Deputy Prime Minister’s office, Probation and several Trusts and Foundations, were all struck by the self-confidence, poise and talent of all these individuals. It was a showcase of all of the aforementioned facets as well of their hard work and dedication, and that of the Safe Ground delivery team. However above all it was a moment that the graduates had to articulate their feelings about their experience of Safe Ground interventions, but also their ideas about how the various courses could develop and how as an organisation Safe Ground can develop its range of services, its reach and its profile.

Look out for more on this day via a blog on the Safe Ground website W/C 05.03.12. In the meantime share in the observations of one of our guests the disguished researcher Tom Schuller on his blog: http://www.longviewuk.com/Blog/
