Safe Ground - Using drama to educate prisoners and young people at risk in the community

Sara gets locals writing sonnets

On Wednesday 15th October we held the first of our community poetry workshops at the Katherine Low Settlement as part of our GROUNDation Poetry Project (GPP), with a group of older people resident in Wandsworth. The session was led poet and Slam Champion, Sara Hirsch, who used the theme of ‘home’ to elicit perspectives of Wandsworth that surprised and amused a group, who collectively had seen almost everything. Some beautiful work was created and was shared amongst the group. Check out some photographs from the workshop in the gallery below and look out for a video interviews with Sara and workshop participants in the next few weeks. Also stay tuned for lines of poetry on our twitter @safe_ground #GROUNDationPoetry.
